Three ways to visit
Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau are both part of the Memorial visit. The sightseeing format can be very different depending on whether you want to read and move at your own pace, join an official guided group or have a guide dedicated to your party.
Best for guests who want a shorter, independent look rather than an in-depth visit. Self-guided Entry Passes are generally available later in the day, so the remaining visiting time can be limited. July and August offer the best chance of having around 3 hours across Auschwitz I and Birkenau; in other months the available time is usually tighter.

Join an official Auschwitz Memorial guide-educator with other individual visitors. The regular visit is approximately 3.5 hours. A longer study-group option of around 6 hours is also available on selected schedules and languages.
A guide-educator is reserved specifically for your party. This gives you a more personal visit and opens the possibility of longer study formats. Private guides are in strong demand, so this option is best requested well in advance.
